Band Camp: Monday, August 15^th through Friday, August 19^th, 2011

• All musicians and squads: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM all days

• Colorline: August 18th, 12:00 noon – 4:00 PM; and August 19th, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Band Camp Notes

• Band Camp will be held at Toms River High School South.

• Report to the Cafetorium before start time.

• Drum Majors, Section Leaders, and Captains start at 7:40 AM in the Faculty Room.

• All students are to pack a lunch for the week of band camp; no one will be allowed to leave the campus at lunch time.

• You must adhere to the following minimal dress code:

  • Shoulders must be covered at all times. T-shirts are recommended, no tank tops.

  • Shorts are recommended; no short-shorts or short skirts permitted.

  • Sneakers or marching shoes are required. All footwear must be closed-toed, closed-heeled, and tight-laced. If your footwear does not fit this description, you will be required to borrow used band shoes from the closet!

  • All hair must be covered or tied back.

  • If you are not dressed to code, you must borrow appropriate clothing, or we will call home and have someone bring appropriate clothing to you!

• Hats, sunglasses, water bottles, sunscreen, and bug spray are HIGHLY recommended. We will be inside, but also on the turf main football field, and the grass baseball field.

• You may wish to pack a towel and/or change of clothes. The grass field can be damp in the mornings, and we WILL work through a light rain!

• You must have your instrument/equipment and music with you at all times. Student leaders must also have their charts available at all times. You must have a pencil or pen ready to take notes during music practices.

• To help avoid sun illness and fatigue, you should eat a good breakfast at least one half-hour before start time, and plan on drinking water continuously throughout the day.

• Return forms, shoe money, and other required items on the requested day. Failure to do so may make you ineligible to start the season with everyone else!

**Band Camp Preview Show: Friday, August 19, 2011 at 3pm**

At 3pm, on the last day of band camp, the Marching Indians would like to invite all family and friends to the football field for the debut performance of “Around the World in Seven Minutes.”

Musician Night Rehearsals: 6:30-9:00 PM EVERY Monday in September and October unless explicitly cancelled!

Squad Night Rehearsals: 6:00-9:00 PM EVERY Tuesday in September, October, & November unless explicitly cancelled!
